This guide will show you how to take your sweepstakes and integrate it with iContact so that you can start sending names and email addresses right into any iContact list.

1) Add External Program

Login to your iContact Account:

Once logged in, you should see a field that allows you to provide an external program with access to your account.
In the Application ID field, paste in the ViralSweep AppID: QRUj0Sk52HeKhsPpcly4dRHTmCZkNuHY

Create a new password for the external program. Click save when finished.

2) Connect to iContact

When setting up your sweepstakes, go to the Connect Email Service section and click on iContact.

3) Input Credentials

In the iContact App ID field, paste in the ViralSweep App ID which is: QRUj0Sk52HeKhsPpcly4dRHTmCZkNuHY

Then input your iContact username and the password you just created for the application in the previous step.

4) Choose a list

Once you successfully input your credentials and click the connect button, we will reveal your iContact lists. Simply choose a list from the dropdown menu and click connect.

5) You're connected

That's it, you're all set. Your sweepstakes is now connected to your iContact account, and we will send any names and email addresses right into that iContact list.


If you have connected your sweepstakes to iContact and email addresses are not being added to your list, these are the most common reasons as to why:

Email already in iContact list
The email address entered into the sweepstakes may already be in your iContact list, so it will not be added again.
Email already entered into ViralSweep
The email address entered into the sweepstakes has already been entered into the sweepstakes previously, so therefore it is not passed to iContact. This can happen if you set up your iContact integration after you have already entered the sweepstakes.
User did not opt-in
The user did not click the link in their double opt-in confirmation email that was sent to them. If they don't click that link, they won't be added to your list.
Delay in reporting
iContact is having a delay in reporting. Try checking again in a few hours.
