1) Connect to Sendgrid
When setting up your campaign, go to the Connect Email Service section and click on Sendgrid.
2) Input Credentials
Input your Sendgrid API key. You can find your API key in your Sendgrid account by clicking on settings and going to API Keys. Since Sendgrid does not show you an API key once it is generated, you may need to generate a new one by clicking Create API Key.
Once you have your API key, paste it into ViralSweep.
3) Choose a list
Once you successfully input your credentials and click the connect button, we will reveal your Sendgrid Lists. Simply choose a list from the dropdown menu and click connect.
4) You're connected
That's it, you're all set. Your campaign is now connected to your Sendgrid account, and we will send user data right into your Sendgrid list.
What data do you pass to Sendgrid?
ViralSweep will pass the following fields:
- First Name
- Last Name
- Email Address
- Address 2
- Referral URL
- Campaign ID
Do you update subscribers?
Yes, if you run a promotion and we pass someone to Sendgrid, then you run another promotion in the future and the same person enters, we will automatically update their information in Sendgrid (if any new information is provided). Mainly, the referral URL will be updated with the newest URL for each promotion they enter.
If you have connected your campaign to Sendgrid and users are not being added to your list, these are the most common reasons as to why:
Email already in Sendgrid list
The email address entered into the Sendgrid list may already be in your Sendgrid list, so it will not be added again.
Email already entered into ViralSweep
The email address entered into the campaign has already been entered into the campaign previously, so therefore it is not passed to Sendgrid again. This can happen if you set up your Sendgrid integration after you have already entered the campaign.
Delay in reporting
Sendgrid is having a delay in reporting. Try checking again in a few hours.
